Who We Are
SRC Global (SRC) is an international project development, consulting, and advisory firm specializing in the technologies, policies, strategies, economics, financing, and implementation aspects of renewable energy resources, energy efficiency, and demand-side management (EE/DSM), energy-saving performance contracting and energy service companies (ESCOs), energy industry restructuring, integrated resource planning, and cogeneration (combined heat and power).
SRC was established in 1999 by Dilip R. Limaye, an internationally recognized pioneer and entrepreneur.
The company has specialized in the development of renewable energy resources, including solar and wind projects, with a total of 1,500 MW solar PV projects and 500 MW wind farms. We have extensive experience as a senior advisor and consultant to project developers, commercial and industrial organizations, multilateral and bilateral financial institutions, national governments, banks, and electric and gas utilities in over 60 countries. One of our strengths is in assisting developers of renewable energy, energy efficiency, cogeneration, and biomass projects in technical due diligence, environmental assessment, financial structuring, and preparation of bankable project proposals.
Company History
The original SRC (Synergic Resources Corporation) Group of companies was founded by Dilip Limaye in 1978 to provide consulting services in energy policy, energy efficiency, alternative energy, cogeneration, and integrated resource planning. The company performed pioneering studies of alternatives to nuclear power and was the principal consultant to the Northwest Power Planning Council (U.S.) in the development of the world’s first integrated resource plan. In the early 1980s, SRC was a member of the team led by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) that developed the art, science, and practice of demand-side management (DSM). Over the following 15 years, SRC provided a wide range of services related to DSM planning, program design, implementation, and evaluation to over 90 of the top 100 U.S. utilities, as well as many state regulatory commissions and state energy agencies. In the early 1990s, SRC expanded internationally and established SRC International Inc. with subsidiaries in Canada, the U.K., Denmark, the Czech Republic, India, and Australia. These companies provided consulting and advisory services related to DSM and IRP to national and regional organizations in over 15 countries. The SRC Group was established in 1994 and included a number of international subsidiaries as well as a software company (SRC Systems, Inc.) and the International Energy Services Company (INTESCO), which also had subsidiaries in India, Australia, and the Czech Republic.
In 1996, SRC was acquired by Resource Management International (RMI). Mr. Limaye retired in 1999 from RMI and was engaged by the World Bank as a Senior Advisor—energy efficiency and sustainable development. He established SRC Global to provide consulting and advisory services initially to the World Bank. These services have now expanded to a wide range of other clients.
